David Archuleta

admin | Free Stuff | Saturday, March 8th, 2008

I have posted a section to my site of the recordings David and I did a few years ago. I wrote the lyrics, the guitar, and the melody but David graced it with his voice.  What do you think?

  9. those are beautiful! thanks for posting hes got such an amazing voice

    Comment by Meaghan — March 8, 2008 @ 7:49 pm

  10. “a few years ago”….must have been shortly after his voice changed. It certainly has developed. For me, melody takes precedence over lyrics, and “Angels” is the better song melodically.

    Comment by Ray — March 8, 2008 @ 7:51 pm

  11. Those songs truly were beautiful. I loved David’s vocals as well as your guitar playing. It would be awesome if these were downloadable. =]

    Comment by Susanna — March 8, 2008 @ 9:34 pm

  17. I replied on the AI boards, but I thought I’d leave a comment here. :) I’m listening to them over and over again. When David hits that note (”I’ve gone crazy”) at about 38 seconds, is there a whooshing sort of sound? Whatever it is, it sounds really cool. Maybe I’m just hearing things, but if it was intentional, it’s awesome.

btw, I just read the tiny type at the bottom of the page. Ahahahaha, love the part about Diet Coke.

  21. They are fantastic. I can’t get enough hearing David sing. I can tell they are a few years ago - as good as he was then, his voice now has matured and developed to something even more magical. You should beg him to re-record them after he wins on AI.

    Comment by jwipe — March 8, 2008 @ 11:52 pm

  22. Hey! Great songs you’ve written there and a beautiful combination with David’s voice. Anyone who said that he couldn’t get through mainstream listeners are so wrong. I could definitely hear “Angels In The Alleyway” on the radio. As an encouragement, if you need any (lol), for you, I’d just like to share with you what the first Singapore Idol did. He, like what you did with David here, did some songs with his friend and when he released an album, that song came out as a single and it’s a hit =D I hope this song, someday, would be released. It’s a great song. And I can’t get it out of my head right now. Haha! Great job!

    Comment by Siti — March 9, 2008 @ 1:19 am

  23. Beautiful! Loved them both! I would love for him to sing Angels in the Alleyway on Idol. I love the way he sings the “I’ve gone crazy” - “please forgive me parts” Amazing! Do you plan to sell them? Re-record them? They are awesome.

Now moving on to David ;-) I LOVE THIS KID (he is so going to win A.I. and move on to conquer the music world). David is AMAZING and I never tire of hearing his voice - it’s so incredibly soothing to me. And your guitar playing is the perfect accompaniment to David’s silky voice. These are some of the best songs I’ve heard in a very long time. Thank you for making them available to those of us who truly appreciate great music and artists.
All the best to both you and David!!

Thanks for sharing these songs and for giving all of us devoted David fans a chance to hear even more of our guy.

    Comment by Rochelle — March 14, 2008 @ 10:58 pm

  58. Thank you. These are exquisite songs, and I hope you will get them released. I spread the word about them at http://www.jonpeterlewis.com too. I am optimistic David will be able to continue to uphold his standards and faith in the face of Hollywood pressures. I really love both songs. I’d like to hear more of the background story of “The Most Beautiful Part About This Is.” I guess that song resonates with me since I’m old enough to have seen people I love suffer and die. But I also especially love the line, “Pour my heart into the dust, step aside and watch it rust” in “Angels in the Alleyway.” I may have gotten that line slightly wrong, but the imagery is great.

I am having a bit of a hard time seeing the player on my computer because it blends with the green lime behind it. Maybe that isn’t true on all computers. Have you written any poetry or other songs? I’d enjoy seeing those posted up too. Thanks again, and keep writing.

  70. Hello there, Me’rrick :)

I found your site through David Archuleta sites, but after browsing through it, I was jus compelled to leave a comment.

You have such an amazing talent. Your words, your melody, just pure genius. I’m not sure how old you really are, but I assume you’re around David’s age? It’s just amazing how someone as talented as you have been fated early in life to be with David too, to be able to show the rest of the world how great you are :) As someone who is just as old as you are, you make me feel so very talentless. Hahaha. I’d love to be able to get to contact you in a more personal note. You’re awesome :)

    Comment by Ginger — April 24, 2008 @ 7:32 am

  71. David is definitely talented and he has everything a star needs to succeed

  73. i have a passion for writing (not much of a songwriter, but possible) , and i know good lyrics when i see it. meshed with david’s angelic voice, you’ve just produced two of the most wonderful songs i’ve ever listened to in my life. i can totally hear these be played in my church meetings. :) God bless.
